Website Speed Optimization

A slow site costs you customers and rankings. We find what's slowing yours down and fix it, so it loads fast and scores well on Google's Core Web Vitals, on Shopify, WordPress, or custom code.

Why speed is worth fixing

Speed isn't a vanity metric. A page that's slow to load loses visitors before it even finishes, drags down conversions, and can hurt your Google rankings, since Core Web Vitals are a ranking signal.

Getting it right pays back in traffic and sales.

What the work looks like

We start by measuring where you are, with real Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals numbers. Then we fix the issues in priority order and show you the before-and-after.

What we optimize

Core Web Vitals

These are the three metrics Google measures, with the scores it counts as good.

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
2.5 seconds or less
How fast the main content shows up.
Interaction to Next Paint (INP)
200 ms or less
How quickly the page responds when someone taps or clicks.
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)
0.1 or less
How much the layout jumps around while it loads.

Images and media

Right formats, right sizes, proper lazy-loading. Usually the single biggest, fastest win.

Caching and delivery

Page and object caching, a CDN, and compression so content reaches visitors faster.

Scripts and code

Trimming render-blocking JavaScript and CSS, and the plugin or app bloat that quietly piles up.

The back end

Hosting, database, and theme performance on WordPress; theme and app efficiency on Shopify; build and server setup on custom sites.

Speed optimization questions

How much can you improve my site's speed?

It depends on where you're starting, but most sites have clear, fixable problems (oversized images, no caching, heavy scripts) and see a real jump in Lighthouse scores and load time. On the first call we'll tell you what's realistic for your site.

Will a faster site actually help my SEO?

It can. Core Web Vitals are one of the signals Google uses to rank pages, so a faster site removes a handicap, though speed alone won't carry your rankings. The surer payoff is with visitors: faster pages keep people around longer and convert better, which shows up in your bottom line.

Which platforms can you speed up?

Most of our speed work is on Shopify and WordPress, but the fundamentals apply to any site, custom builds included. The specifics differ (theme and app bloat on Shopify, hosting and plugins on WordPress, build and delivery setup on custom sites), and the goal stays the same: faster load times and passing Core Web Vitals.

How long does a speed optimization pass take?

Most focused optimization work is measured in days, not months. We diagnose, fix in priority order, and verify the results. Larger or more complex sites take longer, and we'll tell you upfront which yours is.

Is your site slower than it should be?

In a 30-minute call, we'll go over what's slowing it down and what fixing it would take.
