Who I am
I've spent 20+ years building, fixing, and maintaining websites and online stores.
I grew up in El Salvador, where I lived until I was 17, and today I'm based in Brookfield, Wisconsin. That's where the studio's name comes from, too: Solymar is sol y mar, Spanish for "sun and sea."
I run Solymar Digital as a boutique studio: development and migrations (with a real specialty in Shopify), speed and accessibility work, and the ongoing maintenance that keeps sites healthy long after launch.
How I work
I deliberately keep a limited roster of clients. It's the difference between being one account among hundreds and being a client I know well. It means I answer my own emails, I know your site, and I'm the one writing the code.
For the businesses I work with, that shows up as responsiveness and reliability; for the agencies I partner with, it shows up as a dependable extension of the team, never a vendor to manage, and never a competitor.
Your main point of contact is always me
When a project needs an extra set of hands, I bring in trusted collaborators, but the senior work, and your main point of contact, is always me.
That's also how Solymar is built to grow: carefully, without ever losing the direct relationship that makes it worth hiring in the first place.
What I work on
In 20+ years I've watched the tools change more times than I can count. Platforms rise and fade, and the way sites get built keeps shifting. The job underneath hasn't moved much: a site that loads fast, works for everyone, is easy for your team to run, and earns its keep. So I start with the problem and pick the tool second.
These days most of my work is on Shopify, especially larger stores, migrations, and B2B commerce, and that's where I'm putting my focus. WordPress has been a core platform for me for years, from maintenance and speed work to full redesigns.
I also build custom and static sites (this site is hand-built HTML with no CMS), and I've worked across Sitecore and marketing-automation platforms like Pardot, Marketo, and HubSpot, which helps when a project needs more than code.
