Privacy Policy
The short version: Solymar Payment Terms Extended stores your store's domain, name, and Shopify plan, plus the privacy requests Shopify sends it. Your payment terms stay in your own Shopify store, and no order details reach us.
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Who we are
Solymar Payment Terms Extended ("the app") is a Shopify app that sets payment terms for B2B company locations. It's made by Solymar Digital, LLC, a web development studio based in Brookfield, Wisconsin, United States. This policy explains what information the app handles when a Shopify merchant installs and uses it. Questions go to apps@solymardigital.com.
This policy covers the app only. Our website, solymardigital.com, has its own privacy policy.
The short version
- The app's database keeps one record about your store: its domain, its name, and its Shopify plan.
- It also keeps a copy of every privacy request Shopify sends it. A request about one of your customers can include that customer's Shopify ID, email address, and phone number.
- It doesn't collect your orders or your contact details as the store owner.
- Each location's payment terms, and the app's settings, are saved in your own Shopify store, not on our servers.
- We don't sell any information, share it for advertising, or use it for anything other than running the app.
What the app stores
The app's database, hosted on Gadget, keeps one record for each store that installs it:
- your store's domain and its .myshopify.com address,
- your store's name, and
- your Shopify plan's name and display name.
We use these to recognize your store when you open the app, to check that it's on Shopify Plus, and to help you when you contact support. The app also keeps the access credentials Shopify issues when you install it, which let the app make the changes you ask for in your store, within the permissions listed below.
Privacy requests from Shopify
Shopify sends every app three kinds of privacy request: a customer asking for their data, a customer asking for their data to be erased, and, 48 hours after you uninstall, a request to erase your store's data. The app receives all three and keeps each one exactly as Shopify sent it. A customer request includes that customer's Shopify ID, email address, and phone number.
The app doesn't act on these requests, because it doesn't otherwise hold your customers' data or your orders. Nothing is deleted when the store erasure request arrives: the store record above and the stored requests stay in the app's database.
What the app doesn't collect
The app doesn't collect or store your orders or your order history, and it doesn't collect your customers' personal information, apart from what Shopify includes in the privacy requests described above.
When you install any Shopify app, Shopify's install screen notes that the app can see basic information about the store owner, such as your name and email address. Solymar Payment Terms Extended doesn't read or store that information.
The app doesn't use advertising or analytics trackers.
What stays in your Shopify store
Everything you set up in the app is saved in your own store, where you can see it in Shopify admin:
- each company location's payment terms, as metafields on the location (in the app's own fields, or in metafields you've linked, such as ones your ERP fills in),
- the app's settings, such as the default cutoff day and which fields to read, as metafields on the app's payment customization, and
- two cached entries on the app's installation: your billing status and a summary of your locations for the Home page.
The app reads and updates these through Shopify's API when you use it, and doesn't copy them into its own database.
At checkout, the app's Shopify Function runs inside Shopify. It reads the buyer's company location, that location's payment terms, the app's settings, and your store's local date, and returns the payment terms and deposit. Nothing about the checkout, the buyer, or the order is sent to us.
Shopify permissions
The app asks Shopify for these permissions, and uses them only as described:
- Read and write companies: to create the app's payment terms fields on company locations, to read and save each location's terms, to read the payment terms and deposits you've already set in Shopify (so the app can carry existing deposits into its editor and point out any that would no longer apply), and to copy values between storage fields when you ask it to.
- Read and write payment customizations: to add and manage the payment customization that sets payment terms at B2B checkout, including turning it on or off with the app's status switch.
Who processes the information
Gadget
The app runs on Gadget, an app hosting platform, which stores the store record and privacy requests described above on our behalf. Like most hosting platforms, Gadget keeps short-lived request logs (about a day) to keep the app running and secure. Gadget handles this information under its own privacy policy.
Shopify
Shopify runs the platform the app works in, including checkout, and handles all billing for the app. Charges appear on your Shopify bill, and we never see your payment details. To check whether your plan is active, the app asks Shopify's Partner API using your store's Shopify ID, so that check stays between Shopify's systems. Shopify's handling of your information is covered by Shopify's privacy policy.
Your customers' data
The only personal information about your customers that the app holds is what Shopify includes in privacy requests: a customer's Shopify ID, email address, and phone number. The app doesn't hold their orders or anything else about them. As the merchant, you remain in charge of your customers' information in your Shopify store.
How long we keep it
The store record and the privacy requests are kept in the app's database. They aren't deleted automatically, including after you uninstall or when Shopify's store erasure request arrives. If you'd like them deleted, email us (see "Your rights"). Request logs on the hosting platform are deleted after about a day.
Information saved in your Shopify store is yours to manage in Shopify admin.
Your rights
You can ask us what information the app holds about your store, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing apps@solymardigital.com. Depending on where you're based (for example California, the European Union, or the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights under local law. We'll honor reasonable requests wherever you are.
Keeping it safe
The app keeps as little as it can, and it talks to Shopify and to your browser only over encrypted connections. No method of sending or storing data online is perfectly secure, but we treat your information the way we'd want ours treated.
Children
The app is for businesses that run Shopify stores and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling information differently, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
